Simple Sponge Cake

T.G.I.F Y'ALL!! I've been waiting since Monday and now it's here! Well it sounds like I had plans but I didn't actually so I ended up baking in the kitchen. I just made the most easy, simple, moist, amazing sponge cake! So I decided to share the recipe with you guys if you are interested. So here it is!
Recipe:
2 large eggs
2 cups sugar
50 grams butter or margarine
2 tsp baking powder
3 cups flour
1 cup milk (water is also good)
Season the sponge cake with:
2 tsp vanilla sugar, grated zest of one lemon, chocolate chunks, fruits and berries or whatever you feel like really.

The process:

Preheat oven to 175 degrees. Grease your baking tin and sprinkle it with bread crumbs.
Beat eggs and sugar so that it becomes fluffy after a few minutes of whipping. Mix flour and baking powder and stir into the egg mixture. Melt the butter and stir it into the mixture along with the milk. Stir until the batter is smooth and add whatever you want to season it with at this point. Pour it down the baking tin and into the oven.
Bake for about 30-40 minutes depending on oven. Use a toothpick or something in that shape to check that it is not sticky in the middle. When it's done then remove and let it cool a bit before it is turned upside down.
The spongecake should be ready to be eaten in an hour after it's out of the oven.
Not that hard right? And totally worth it!
You can decorate it if you want to go that far by melting chocolate and pouring it on the cake or any other topping. I didn't go that far because the sugar in there was enough for me. Try it out then tell me how it tokelezead(turned out hehe). Here is how mine turned out:

I can feel the moist just by staring at this picture.. Mmmmhhh

Hivyo ndio kunaendaga

Sooo I've been gone for some days due to how traumatic this swedish weather is. I tried to get myself together but it has snowed more the past 24 hours than it has the entire winter. Maybe this was when I was supposed to book my ticket to Kenya... Anyways all I can do is hope for it to go away. Lemme just try and be positive!//Brom

Kenyan for sure

"Where are you from originally?"
"Im a kenyan!"
"So you are a good runner I guess!!"
What the...? This happens way too often!! I am a proud kenyan I must say...but a runner?? Not really.
So today this kenyan part of me was forced to come out...literally!! I woke up this morning and planned out everything that was going down today. Since in Sweden everything keeps time I had to check the exact trains I'll be taking and all that. There is a possibility to buy a train ticket just before you board and that was part of the plan. So I come to the station 10 minutes before my train arrives and I bought my ticket. All I had to do was take the ticket that's printed out and voila!! Well not this time folks... Today the ticket never showed up. Like I tried giving it time to process but nothing happened. I even pressed all the buttons thinking that my ticket might feel the pressure it was put under but nothing happened. Ok... 8 min left. Looked around and found a number to customer care. Dialed it and guess what...My balance was too low. Now this is where my heart started beating fast. I have 7 min left before the train arrives. That's when I realized I have to ruuuun to the shopping center that's like 5 min away. Tightest jeans and heaviest bag didn't stop me from getting to that shop. Well I got to top-up my phone and now I had 2 min left until the train leaves so...yeah. Let's just say I was determined to catch it.
Yeah I caught it if that's what you are wondering about. When I finally took a seat and got to catch my breath the 1st thing that popped into my mind was, Is this what it feels like to really be a kenyan? So this is what people think I am when I tell them that Im a kenyan? Im I kenyan enough?
Anyways long story short, Im a kenyan and really proud to say that. Im just kenyan in my own way just as Rudisha and Kemboi are in their own ways. I just don't do the running thing. Don't get it twisted!//Brom

Well here I go again...

Glad you made it here! Im Bromwel. U can call me Brom. Most of the people I know do. And they do sometimes make up other names like Bombom, Broom, and Lebromm. Yep Lebromm... That one came from my basketball team. They decided to combine Lebron and Brom and it turned out pretty good right? I guess you are now wondering why the double ``m´´. Well I liked the nickname and decided to change my Instagram to Lebrom, but I guess someone took it before I got my hands on it. But an extra ``m´´ doesn't hurt that bad right? Yea right...
17 years and still going strong on this planet. Im a kenyan living in Sweden(Stocktown that's wassup!). It's cool...too cool sometimes. That winter is a killer but I've survived the last 5ish... Yea that's how long I've lived here. Moved from Kenya back in 2008 and I've lived here ever since. Do I miss home? More than you can ever imagine. Moving to this place is a blessing...but leaving my home is the hardest I've ever done. This is why I decided to start this blog where I can just write out what Im feeling, thinking and most of all how Im experiencing this entire thingy. I've tried this blogging thing before and failed totally but now I have found my own way of doing it...or I THINK I have...or have I? Well I guess only time will tell this time. I'll be around and I'll tell you more. Hope you will too! Deuces for now//Brom
